Neighborhood

Stemwinder Drive is the main entrance to the Kimberley Alpine Resort base area. Note, you can cross-country ski from the back door over to the Trickle Creek golf course where XC skiing is permitted. In summer, it's a 10 minute walk to Trickle Creek Golf Course although most of our golf groups choose our golf-shuttle option.

Access

Most guests arrive by car. However, if you’d like concierge services, Simply Kimberley provides group and airport transportation to pair with our discounted lift tickets and tee time booking services. In summer, our primary clientele are golf groups who trust us to set up their full golf packages with daily shuttles.

The Stemwinder Lodge has access to the neighbouring paths and the many biking and hiking trails of Kimberley, BC. The property itself is accessed through the front door, ground-level back entrance or the single-car garage.

Space

This lodge has a serious “WOW” factor. You step into a huge entrance room through the french door front entrance complete with front entryway common washroom. Drop your footwear and head into the main lodge with kitchen and living space with wood-burning stove. After a long day of golf, skiing or mountain biking, retire to the bubbling jets of the hot tub on the back deck. When it’s time to retire roll on upstairs, open your bedroom window and you’ll hear peace and quiet of the Purcell Mountains whispering your name.

Transit

A free mountain to town ski hill shuttle is available during winter operated by the City of Kimberley. Or, Simply Kimberley runs a small fleet of charter vehicles.

Notes

Kimberley's largest vacation rental - the Stemwinder Lodge. This custom-finished, 4000 sq foot lodge is located 500m from the main chairlift, across the street from Trickle Cr. golf course. It's the perfect property for large family ski groups in winter and 12-person golf groups in summer.

The Stemwinder Lodge is modelled after a European chalet with six-bedrooms each with its' own ensuite bathroom plus a common area half-bath on the main. There is also a seperate two-bedroom walkout suite (500 sqft) that will become part of the main lodge for Feb 1, 2024 or earlier.

The main floor hosts the master bedroom with a king bed and a twin bed. This bedroom also has its own private door out to the back deck with the hot tub and BBQ. The upper floor has four bedrooms and four bathrooms; each bedroom has a double bed plus 1 or 2 twin beds. The lower-level bedroom has a double and a twin. The loft has a foosball table and will have a 70" + Smart TV with Telus Optik sports package. The open living room is accented with timber posts and a wood-burning stove. The current dining table seats ten and is paired with a fully equipped kitchen and an island with seating for four makes meal preparation an inclusive event.

This is a wheel-chair friendly lodge with an accessible entry ramp and wheel-in bathroom and shower on the master, main floor bedroom. The only accessible property at the Kimberley Alpine Resort!

The City of Kimberley is governed by a Good Neighbour Bylaw and our quiet hours of 10PM - 7AM must be respected. Stemwinder Drive is a mixed street of full-time residences and vacation rentals. To protect our property and to respect our neighbours, the Stemwinder Lodge is NOT a “party home”. Please contact us to organize condo rentals if your group is coming to Kimberley to party.

For additional security purposes, the exterior of the front door is monitored by Google Nest cam and our back deck has an Minut device installed to monitor and report real-time noise decibel levels. We take our good neighbour responsibility very seriously.

Cancellation Policy

Accommodation - Cancellation Policy:

The initial deposit is refundable (minus a cancellation fee) with a cancellation received a minimum of one (1) calendar month prior to arrival and three (3) months for Peak Season (Christmas/NYs, Alberta Family Day) as shown on www.kimberley.com/terms-and-conditions.

A one-time cancellation fee of $150 + GST is applicable to each condo cancellation and a cancellation fee of $250 + GST is applicable to all Stemwinder Chalet, Stemwinder Lodge, The Woods or Super Condo cancellations.

Absolutely no refunds for cancellations received less than one (1) calendar month to arrival or three (3) months for Peak Season bookings.

In the event of a cancellation inside of our cancellation policy dates, Simply Kimberley will endeavour to re-rent the cancelled property. If we are successful in re-rental, we will provide a 100% credit minus the cancellation fee to the cancelling party to be used prior to the end of the same season (ski-hill closing in spring/winter and Thanksgiving in the fall).
